I go 25 to a magazine as well. The hassle of the last 5 is only worth it when I'm showing off.
$500 is rather steep, I paid $425 for mine ("used") when they were even harder to find, it had the updated barrel, warranty card, some various ammo, etc ... and was in pristine condition. $300 is a pretty good deal, $400 is about MSRP, and as supply catches up it becomes a tad high. $500 for a gun and 6 magazines, maybe?
Don't know what "bugs" you're talking about, some people fed their pistols junky ammo and had ruptured cases, and the tumbling complaints were isolated to a specific range of ammo, which the updated barrel mostly fixes.
(I have had no tumbling, I have seen reports of it still with a very specific load, which I can't remember at the moment)
If you're buying the gun as a toy, get it cheaper. If you're buying it because you feel it fills a "need" niche, it might still be in the teething stage, like any brand-new design.
And if you wait a few more months/years, Ruger will make a copy and promptly recall it. (mostly kidding)
