My SIL bought one of these recently. I looked at an early one and thought it would make a great jeep gun but didn't like that it was limited to the sights that it came with or a rather clunky arrangement to use a red dot so I put that thought away and went another direction. Now it seems that Keltec had come up with a swing aside scope mount that allows one to easily equip the little thing with a workable solution other than the standard sights plus it is available in more cartridge selections. It makes a nice compact truck/jeep/suv gun and I wish the new scope thing had been available when I was looking at them. I would have purchased one except for being pretty much restricted to iron sights. I no longer have a problem with iron sights but did then.

The latest model doesn't have integral sights, just a rail, and the forend rotates to allow stowage with an optic attached.

The sights were so badly configured on the previous version, you coudn't actually use them unless your cheekbone was higher than your eyebrow.

I think Kel Tec finally is owning up to the "inherently wrong" aspect of the sights, and rightly just deleted them for the Gen 3.

I have a gen-1 and definitely agree, almost useless for my fat head.

I raised mine 1/8th of and co-witnessed them with a dot. They work ok now but the acrylic front sight broke so time to make a new one lol

The Gen 3's been in the works for about 8 months now. That's why they were offering the $100 rebate so they can get rid of all the Gen 2's. And they extended the rebate till March to get rid of old stock.

A couple of other things that kept me away from the original was doing some research and finding they came with a heavy trigger and accuracy wasn't all that great from what I found. I decided on a 20" Rossi in 357. More oomph if wanted with the option of a good trigger for a few bucks and a little work and better accuracy. I put an overhead rifle rack in my Jeep that was originally for 2 rifles. Space is scarce in a 2 door jeep and it wasn't exactly user friendly until I cut off one rack so I could move it forward where I can just reach up and grab the gun. With the Keltec I would have had to carry it beside me between the seat and console using space I need for other items so I am happy with what I have.

The Keltec and now the Smith's are kind of a cool concept though.

That actually makes alot of sense! If mine fails again i might just do that.
Here are some photos of it. This is a 1st gen S2K model, I dimpled the sight so the locking button fits in, but won’t lock it. Hi-Point sight is metal, not plastic, and is adjustable for elevation. Two set screws hold it firmly in place. IMG_0052.jpeg IMG_0051.jpeg IMG_0050.jpeg IMG_0049.jpeg

I've had a gen 2 for years, mainly for the Beretta mag version as there's not a lot of PCCs that take 92 mags besides my CX4 storm and PAK9. And recently picked up a S&W FPC.
The FPC trigger is much better, a bit better than the triggers on my Shields. The trigger on my Sub2k is the worst trigger ever.
Accuracy with Blazer 115 gr is better at 25 yards, not as good as the Storm but better.
Ergonomics are better.

Where the Sub2k still rules is size and weight. It's a good pound lighter and super slim. I mounted an optic as far forward as I could and that allows it to mostly fold up, enough it can still fit in a small laptop case or many places the FPC won't fit.

I've debated putting some money into MCARBO parts to make the trigger better but this isn't something I take to the range for fun or expect 1 MOA accuracy. It's a tool and it gets the job done like nothing else.
