Hi folks

Does anyone have/have views on the Kershaw Baby Boa?

I think it looks good (love that recurve!) and I hear good things about Kershaw/Ken Onion knives generally (though their steel choices might be questioned, apparently) and most are aesthetically very pleasing (to me, at least -- but 'de gustibus non est disputandum' as they say).

Because I live in the UK (least knife-friendly place on the planet), any locking folder is basically illegal (because they are 'equivalent to a fixed blade when locked open' -- 'go figure' as you say in the US), unless you can 'show good purpose' for carrying one ('good purpose' is not defined, until you are in court looking at several years in chokey, of course), so I'll only be carrying it on my own property, but I like to use good knives, so . . . is this one?

errrrrrrrr

Sorry folks, slightly missed the point in the last paragraph. The point is that in the UK ANY folder with a blade longer than 3 inches is illegal (locking or not; forget about fixed blades), so the Baby Boa is, at least notionally, less illegal than, say, the lovely Boa.

I think the Baby Boa is a great looking little knife. I don't have one, so I can't give you a personal review of it, but I have more Kershaws than I can keep track of, including several Ken Onions. They've all served their purpose well. I've never had a problem getting them razor sharp and they hold an edge pretty well. All of the Ken Onion knives I've owned/handled are well balanced and feel good in the hand. I've carried one little Kershaw in my pocket daily for 20 years and done unspeakable things to it. There are more expensive knives out there with arguably better blade steel, more exotic designs and desireable names on them, but I haven't found any other knives that compare to Kershaws for the money. I've played with a few Benchmades and other expensive folders and I like them, but I can't figure out what more I could do with them than I do with a nice Kershaw.
