I just ordered a T/C Hot Shot for my daughter so we can go shooting for her first time on Father's Day. At least one of us is thrilled. 
Anyway, I put together a summary of the major features of eight of the most prevalent kids rifles. By kid's rifle, I mean 11.5" to 12" LOP.
