Has this happened to you

I'm kinda bummed out because instead of being able to post pics of my new Kimber eclipse 10mm, I got a call from Turners yesterday saying I have to wait another 4 days

On the day I purchased the gun the only one they had had a scratch on it. They said they would transfer one over from a store that had one 1/2 hour away, they called the other store to confirm. I waited my 10 days for background check. On the day of my pick up I got a phone call saying that they never transferred the gun and I would have to wait another 4 days. I paid $1233.00 for this gun out the door, I think I would be a little more of a priority:(. It's difficult enough for me to have to wait the 10 days as it is.

I feel for you having to wait.

About 20 minutes ago I was out back shooting a 45 Ultra carry.:)

I've got the Ultra Eclipse II 45. Nice guns.
Of the 9 or 10 Kimbers we have, three or four are Eclipses. Those Eclipses were the only ones that required a break in. They were pretty tight from the Custom Shop but are 100% now.

Yes, but I felt more comfortable buying a gun that I have held in my hand and fired before
They do look nice though

I too am waiting longer for my Kimber Eclipse Custom II in 10mm.

I ordered it (not from Turners) while most of Kimber was at the SHOT show. My gun store hadn't heard from Kimber so they called. The order was just sitting at Kimber doing nothing. The gun store raised hell and received the gun two days later. But now I have to wait until the 19th instead of the 14th as I had hoped.

The only 10mm that are legal for sale in CA are various Glocks, the Kimber Eclipse Custom II and the Kimber Stainless Custom. Fusion is not for sale new in CA.

bigcim - I feel your pain.

i'd suspect that they got that one in and on inspection found something perhaps not quite right like other one they had. So to make sure they don't disappoint you even further they ordered a brand spanking new one ex factory to make doubley sure it will be perfect.

hows that sound?

I finally got it, but even this one had light what seem to be wear marks on the rear sight.
I gotta order some brass and start cranking the lever

10 days for background check ? Why does it take so long ? Here the local police have no more than 5 days to do a back ground check. With a Concealed Pistol License, which most people have, all you have the do is fill out the paperwork, wait for the Instant Check phone call, then pay and walk out the door.

Very nice, Bigcim - I don't yet have a 1911 model, but when I get one, will seriously consider the 10mm platform. BTW, I'll be moving to CA from AZ next year -- I'm trying to buy all the guns I want now so I don't have to deal with the ridiculousness once I cross the border. Speaking of, I'm gonna have to get rid of my Hi-Point 995 carbine - CA says it's an illegal assault rifle which can't be imported at all. :banghead:

The background check is done within the first 2 days. The "240 hour waiting period" is the "cooling down" time.

For a criminal who somehow decides to buy a gun legally, it is the "planning period."
