Been shooting my Kimber for 725 rds now and just starting having CONSISTENT jamming problems around 550 rds. The slide closes 75% jamming/scratching the brass casing with the inside of the slide frame while the other half of the bullet is still in the stock mag. I have always used the same factory ammo, .45 Winchester 230gr. I have been cleaning and lubricating the pistol after every use as instructed by the manual. SO, I just ordered two Wilson 47D mags.. & I hope this helps. Does anyone else use the Wilson 47D mags for their Series II?

Otherwise I love the weapon - I shot my best 8-shot group today @ 15 yards. I've been having a few snags trying to get the pistol sights as accurate as I would like. It seems like there is a big difference between sighting for 10 yards vs. 25 yards, no?

I suspect you have a (so called) match chamber that may be tapered toward the front. When the chamber gets fouled the cartridges stick while going into battery. When at the range, remove the magazine and clear the chamber. With the slide locked back, take a rod with a fresh, dry bronze brush and scrub the bore and chamber while holding the pistol upside down so whatever you're scrubbing out won't fall back into the gun. After several passes of the rod, reload and continue firing. See if the failure to fully chamber continues. If it's cured you know what has caused the trouble.

Then you can: (1) keep the chamber clean at all times, or (2) have a gunsmith open up the chamber using a service spec. finishing reamer.

I notice you have an external extractor. It is my understanding that Kimber has had problems with those, and is replacing them in some guns. This includes a new slide at their expense. It too could be at the bottom of your problem.

Kimber External Extractors

I had problems with a Kimber external extractor but it fed fine. I had failures to extract. The helpfull fellow at Kimber sent me a new extractor and I modified it to fit my gun and alls well.
He said send it back if it did not work and they will fix it whatever it takes. Kimber is good about making things right. They have QC issues just like anybody else. My new 3" CDP has the internal and I'm glad they went back.
Good luck and don't be afraid to call Kimber- Good Folks.:)

I just sent it in this morning to Kimber, hope to have a back in working order soon!
