Among the many Kimbers I have owned that were complete jam-o-matics, one was an Eclipse in 10mm. It also had a problem with the slide stop being hard to put back in. The problem was not with the slide stop, but with the retention spring plunger just to the right of the stop. This protruded just a little bit too far to drop the slide stop in. So I had to push in on the pring plunger with a small screw driver as I inserted the slide stop.
It was kind of a hassle, but not the gun's biggest problem.
