In a earlier thread titled "Kimber series 1 or 2"
I found out alot about the 1911 seriesII kimbers and the problem with Break in or what I will call death grip on the safety. Not that this will work for everyone who has had a problem but this is what I found.
At the range I have come accross 2 others having problem with leaving a round on the ramp (same reason I sent mine back to Kimber) after talking with the young man at the counter, He not only told us how, but fixed the problem by replacing the safety grip with one of the raised or beveled at the end safety grips these were made by ed brown if I remember correctly. we went to lunch when we returned he had them done.
He then went over sitting the gun back against your finger and not the fatty part between thumb and finger if You can follow me on that discription, have the barrel line up with the top bone in your fourarm when pointing at target. Anyways we all shot together for the next hour 250-300 rounds each and not a problem with any of the Kimber II. Not only was this guy helpful , he shoots comp. and drilled the target looked like one shot when he took 10. so we got free shooting lesson to go along with the fix. Might help someone out there !
