Just bought a new Kimber Pro Carry 2 (4" Brl) in 45 ACP. The gun came with only one mag, and I would like to pick up another. I've heard a few stories about the lack of quality in the factory Kimber mags. I've yet to shoot the gun, so can't say how good or bad the feed is from the factory mag, but there has been alot of talk about Wilson Combat mags, and how good they are for just about all 1911 type autos. Any opinions based on experience with this gun and mags?

I have had good luck with the factory mags, and I really like the Kimber Pro-Tac mags.

Kimber marked mags SUCK in both of my 1911's. They jam every round if I use them. I think that part of the reason people have some problems with Kimbers jamming is because of the crappy mags they send in their pistols.

I have used Wilson mags and they work very well. I don't get jams unless I use 200 grain semi wads made by Rainer. Those bullets lock up both of my pistols even when using Wilson mags.

I automatically replace all factory mags with Wilson mags; simplest solution to MOST 1911 feeding problems. I own a Kimber Custo Aluminum Stainlesss and Stainless compact (both series 1) flawless function.
Cheers, TF

All factory mags suck that are included with sub 2k 1911s except for Para and Taurus. My Kimbers like Nighthawk and Wilson mags. For some reason CMC mags work ok for a while but after a few months and a few hundred loadings they start sucking too.
