Went to the gun shop today and seen this great lookin pistol. I was actually looking for another pistol but ended up almost leaving with this one. I have heard good things from kimber, but yet ive heard bad things from them as well. Anybody got this pistol? Is it reliable? Hows the accuracy? Im really thinking about getting this gun, but wanted to hear what you guys think about it first. Is this pistol worth the hefty price tag?

where do you hear good things about kimber?

the kimber forum?

honestly...there's better out there for the same or even less money. you just need to do some research.

I'll be the first one to tell you, I have the ultra crimson carry 2, and ppl can crap talk Kimber all day and I'll pay it no heed, I love mine and it's my edc, matter of fact it's on my hip at this moment, it's as accurate as I could possibly hope for, if it suits your fancy, my advice is take it home and love it

I have the Kimber and a series 70 Colt. The Colt needed some tricking out, Kimber comes with those modefications. I am very happy with both and a "70 Colt" is hard to find, the Kimber Crimson Trace 3" is my carry gun and I recommend it. You have to select your loads for the short barrel as it is a PD gun and not a plinker.

The blanket stereotype or misinformed statements are just that, and seem to be plenty.I have Berretas, Walthers, Rugers, and Kimber. Guess what, the Kimber was my second gun many moons ago, and its still in my collection. I listened to all the bad press went bought a few Wilson magazines because the stock magazine could not be relied on much. Guess what? I have neveer had a single problem with my kimber .45; Not the magazines either. In fact the stock magazine works just fine for me. I may be in the minority here, but honestly, I have nothing bad to say. YMMV.

I own a kimber and its the most reliable pistol I have, infact might be the most reliable gun i own.

its very accurate, hands down the most accurate handgun I own. non of them even come close to the accuracy of my Classic Stainless Target Kimber

As an owner of two Kimbers, I put Kimber's name on the line in front of a bunch of people on a regular basis. I shoot USPSA matches (single stack) as often as I can and the stages are stressful enough without worrying about my equipment. I don't have to worry about my TEII because it simply works great and has done so for thousands of rounds now. I wish I were as reliable as my Kimber but I have a long way to go. I've only shot six matches so far but here's a short clip of the Kimber doing what it does best in yesterday's USPSA match.

I recently bought a Stainless Pro Raptor II and I am honestly amazed by that pistol. I took it to the range just over a week ago for the first time and shot 120 rounds (three different loads) through it using the factory magazine, three DW magazines, one EB magazine and one WC magazine. It was perfect and I have to admit that I love shooting that little pistol. It feels so natural and balanced in the hand. I have a ways to go before I'd consider trusting my life to it since I've only shot 300 or so rounds through it, but so far it's looking good, very good.

After yesterday's match, I shot 100 rounds through it of the most troublesome load I've ever encountered. That's a 185gr LSWC (Western Nevada) that measures 0.453". I had to seat the bullet for an OAL of 1.157" due to the lack of taper on the bullet, but the Raptor ran through them with ease.

I have a Kimber Pro Crimson Carry and really like it. It's very accurate and reliable. I had a couple of feeding issues very early on but they went away after I got some Wilson magazines. I have probably 1200 trouble free rounds through it. It gets carried about 75% of the time in a Cross Breed Super Tuck.

One other little problem I had with it was brass to the forhead now and then. That also went away with the Wilson magazines. The aluminum feed ramp seems to be holding up just fine, even with several brands of SD hollow points. My favorite is Winchester Ranger 230 grain Bonded Hollow Point but Gold Dots work great too. I do not shoot +p ammo in this or any of my 1911's.

I have a Kimber Ultra Crimson Carry II, and I love it. It's my main carry gun (have it on right now) and feels like part of my hand when I shoot it. Great gun, imo.

I dislike Kimber also.... Sorry,,,, I think the guns are great I dislike Kimber because I think I have to buy one every time I see one.... Love my SS Ultra Carry II

I have the SS Ultra Carry II TLE model. It's more accurate than I am. It has been flawless out of the box. The only thing I have done is polish the feed ramp. As far as carry ammo it has feed Hornady Critical Defense and CorBon Power Ball with the factory mag. I have shot 230 RN down to 185gr without any problem. I think the problems people have is not shooting high quality 230gr RN for the breakin period.
