in shopping for my next .22LR pistol, I wondered if the Kimber Super or Target Rimfire models are reliable and worth the $800-1200 price.?

I know it's a conversion kit on a 1911 frame. I'm wondering if it is better to buy one of the GSG/Sig 1911 replicas that is a designed from the start .22LR pistol?

or the downsized 1911 by Browning?

I have the conversion kit on my Stainless Target II and it works very well. CCI works best , Federal second, followed by Winchester.

I'd go with a Ruger 22/45. I would have a hard time spending the $ you mentioned on a plinker.

I have a Kimber 22LR RIMFIRE MATCH 1911 and it is without a doubt the biggest POS I've ever owned in sixty [ 60 !! ] of shooting. WHAT a turd !!!. And it is a GOOD thing they're back on the east coast or I'd have gone over and stuffed it up that miserable bastard who owns Kimber, Leslie Edelmans [ the Bernie Madoff of the gun business ] nose.
And so it goes...
