Kimber Ultra RCP II

I held one on Saturday. It's a nice feeling little gun, would be great with a Crimson Trace Laser Grip.

The gutter snipe sight was different, but was fairly easy to line up.

Not bad, but pushing $1K.....maybe if that lottery ticket comes through.

Think I'll pass for now.

I fondled one at the gun shop a few weeks ago.

I really liked how it felt, and if one can get used to the sights I'd expect it would make a good carry gun (assuming all the talk lately about Kimber's slip in quality is just talk).

If I ever buy a Kimber Ultra I want the grips from the RCP (I think an Eclipse with those black grips would look sweet).

I also like the shorter beaver tail.

Having only handled and disassembled, but not shot one, here is my limited $0.02......
While the gun may have it’s place in ones handgun battery it’s my opinion that these guns are way too small for their intended purpose as a primary carry gun and the marketing ploy that Kimber has built around this gun (Refined Carry Pistol) is just that..... smart marketing. I for one wouldn’t be too comfortable carrying a gun without any sights ‘cause if I have to shoot someone I’d like to make sure I hit my mark..... sights generally help in that regard. In the role of a back up gun the RCP2 might have some valid points but for a gun I may have to fight for my life with I would still prefer something bigger and easier to use.... Oh yeah and a good set of sights is always helpful. ;)

I bought the first one I saw, and put about 200 rounds through it. I found it very difficult to adapt to the gutter-type sights, but then this is a deep concealment close-range pistol. I decided it was not applicable to the broad range of situations I encounter every day so I sold it.

Buy mine for $800!! I've only got about 50 rounds through it. I have to admit that at first I did not like not having conventional sights but once I started shooting it I realized I was still hitting with regularity. I'd like to keep it but I really need to reduce my handgun inventory!! My loss is your gain. It would pass as new. Let me know if you're interested.
