We haven't had one of these type threads in awhile.

Here are mine.

My Victorinox Hiker. The saw, philips and slotted drivers have proven themselves handy on many occasions. I really would be lost without this tool.

My JK Anniversary EDC. It is also the "newest" in my collection.

With its 6 1/2" OAL and 3" blade it isn't too big or too small. On my belt or in a pocket sheath , in town or in the outdoors it can handle any cutting job .

I could give up every other knife I own :)what:) and still be set for life with these two.

Of what I own, even though I rarely use it, I would have to say my Buck 112. I can't think of a single thing that I do on a daily basis that it wouldn't handle, up to and including game processing.

Is it my favorite knife? Nope. Not even close, although it does have some sentimental value to me. Is it versatile? Nope. My SAK (choice 2, by the way) or my Leatherman are more versatile by far. I choose it because it is a tough, rugged knife of proven design that I believe is superior to the SAK if judged just as a knife, not as a multitool.

With all that being said, my EDC knives are a Griptilian and one of a couple Spydercos, most generally an Endura (which is, in fact, my favorite knife). I like them and use them happily. Either one would be a fine choice to be my only knife, but the Buck edges them out just in terms of how long it has been around and how stout it is.

Basic daily load for me would be BecKer BK 11, Camillus utility or SAK Spatran, Spyderco Native.

Sentimental or knives I could not bear to part with include an old but pristine Schrade SB 7, My randall ( retired and in a place of honor) An old edge brand Bowie.

Cruel

You're gonna make me choose?

Accccckk!

Gawd.

Tell you what, I have to think about this.

There is one, the Normark (EKA) "American Hunter" (Swede 92) that I've grown quite fond of. It's versatile and quite durable. Suitable for kitchen tasks, game, general utility. It spends more time in my EDC active rotation than most anything else.

That, and the Leatherman Wave which is always on my hip, are right at the top of the list.

Dredging up an old photo that has both:

And a large and small sodbuster. Another pattern to which I've grown attached. Tremendously useful blade. Sharp, sure, and robust. What's not to love?

I'll have to contemplate which of the others fit the "couldn't do without" criterion.

Good ole Ka-Bar, been everywhere and thru everything, always sharp and never lets me down. And of course my trusty old leatherman, solves every problem eventually. :)

I don't go much of anywhere without my Spyderco Native. I've been carrying it about 10 years now, time to get a new one I think. They come with better blade steels than the original.

Moore Maker 3.5 inch Trapper. Original Leatherman. Buck 119. Bark River w/3" blade (don't know the model) Military issue Woodsman Pal.

having my

Glock M78 ready to go camping or to war
keeps me from buying other expensive stuff.

Other than that i have a Mora, an Opinel
a Ka-Bar, and a Zwilling Santoku Knife
that would be definitely missed instantly.

All the others (tantos, folders, shortswords etc)
are just nice to have.

I can't honestly say there are any knives I couldn't be without, but I'm try every day to carry my SAK Farmer and Sebenza.

I carry a pocket knife daily and keep assorted ones in my briefcase and in my autos. I usely have a Lockback either a Puma or my cheapo S&W. I want to get a CRT m-16 later this fall. I love my sodbuster jr.

Haven't had it long but it's fast becoming my favorite EDC. Harvey King custom from Alta Vista, KS

Knife I couldn't be with out

Easy... My Benchmade CQC7. It has been through hell and back with me. I have carried it almost daily for 12 years.

I carry a sheffields multi-tool and some cheap (made in china mystery steel) Browning folding knife I bought at Dick's for 15 dollars. I cant find the knife on dick's or brownings website but close inspection after light to medium use for 5 months edc the edge is holding quite well so far with a very large and strong liner lock showing no wear. I feel like I paid 15 for a 30-40 dollar knife that's very thin and ergonomic and im considering degreasing it and adding grip tape to critical areas, but overall I'd recommend it.

Vic Swiss Army Knife... the only knife that I consciously need a back up for. My preference is for the Adventurer as I like a simple thin SAK for pocket carry. It gets use every single day for something.

Other ones would include a Case or similar Trapper design, and a 3 to 4 inch fixed blade. I do like the Spydie Endura. I like lots of knives actually and find it hard to choose a few that I really "need" other than the SAK.

.....my Emerson CQC-7 of course. The only time I do not have it on my person is when I sleep but then its within reach. Have had it for almost ten eyars and I would be lost without it :D

I've carried a Spyderco Standard (long discontinued) since the 1980's. Lost the original during a building collapse in a blizzard in 1993, the one with the clip made directly from the scale, and replaced with the newer, triple-screw, attached clip. It sits on my belt as we talk. My wife uses a Delica SS, the more modern version, in her retail work in a grocery store.

I've also carried a Gerber LST 300 in my pocket since 1988. If they work, they stay.:)
