Knives you couldn't be without

my swiss army officer's model is my daily carry. I also have a folding alloy handle 4" single edge that comes to a sharp point with a belt clip & lanyard hole that is real handy and deadly. it's japanese but good s/s.
also have the Glock field knife as another poster - it's more than adequate as a fighting blade if needed for such.
another fav is the multi-tool in the belt sheath.

Benchmade 855 pre production #880/1000, had it for atleast 10 years and can't imagine walking out of the house with out it. I like my spyderco endura but i really really wish it had the same axis lock as the benchmades.

I guess I just would not consider being without my sak. A sak of some type is always with me, no matter what else may be stashed in other pockets. Too many times, the sak has done what no other knife could have done because of the tools on it. fixing a Minnicota trolling motor on a large lake, fixing my Vespa motorscooter in the middle of nowhere on a country road by having a tool that worked on a phillips screw, and being friendly looking enough to go through security in places downtown here in Washington D.C. I had one security person look at it, and go;"Aw heck, its a Swiss Army knife, they're okay."

It's like the karl Malden commercials for the credit card; never leave home without it!

Benchmade 556 Mini Griptilian, plain edge. I have my original in 440C, but have purchased several of the updated versions "just in case".

Favorite Knives

In order:

1. Custom Shop Buck 110 with Elk Antler scales
2. Scagel #10 Safety Folder with Sambar Stag scales
3. Finnish Puukko "Wild Bear" model (5 inch) by Harri.J.Marrima
with a Carl Thomas belt sheath
4. Emerson Super CQC 7
5. Marbles three blade whittler

Leatherman wave.

The one day I was without it, cost me big time in both time and money.
The ATM broke and my card got stuck sticking out the slot. If I'd had my Wave I could have pulled it out and gone to another machine. Instead after a few mintues of me trying to grab the 5mm of plastic sticking out, it eventually got sucked in, never to be seen again. And because I needed cash I made a withdrawal on my C/Card which incured extra charges. All in all a bad day without my Wave which turned into a week without access to money....

Only own two, and don't go anywhere without both.

A Leatherman Juice S2...

And a Benchmade Osborne 960 (red)

I don't own any more because the Benchmade pretty cleared out my knife budget for several years. ;)

The Juice is perfect for me, smaller and lighter than a Wave with 95% of the functionality I'd get from one.

The Benchmade is just incredible. Light, fast, sharp as the devil.

And yes, I know the colours are pretty vivid, but I actually prefer that. Finding them in the dark or in high brush is no trouble at all. :)

I have a bunch of knives that I like very much, but when it comes to having one in my pocket for EDC, I choose a Victorinox SAK. Either an Explorer Plus, a Champion Plus, or a Swisschamp. In recent weeks it seems to be the Champion Plus that I put in my pocket the most.

I couldn't be without ANY of my knives. I have several custom knives that were hand made just for me. One was made for me by my SIL. I'll always treasure it. I also have several Buck knives that have been with me for many years. I especially love my old Buck 110 that was one of the first 110s made and that I carried hunting for many years. My Ontarios, Beckers, CS, Sog, etc, and other tactical knives are fun to fondle and I carried several of them when I was in the military. Then of course, there's my old Boy Scout knife (It was actually and old US army pocket knife). I just can't say any more now because my old eyes are starting to tear up. :)

Here are some of my collection...

I can't be without all my knives but if I really had to choose, I'd choose Case Trapper, Fallkniven S1, and one of my trams.
