just booked my hotel and sent my ATF paperwork in. anybody else going?

taliv - One of my buddies and his son competed in the classic sub-gun match many moons ago. They came in 1 & 2 much to the consternation of poppa who was second - I told him what the hell did he expect, he taught the kid to shoot machine/sub guns since he was 8 years old!

He gave me a video that he made of the shoot and ever since then I've wanted to go. Do you have the dates and times of the shoot or even better a link to it?

I would like to, but I've heard the waiting list is miles long to go! (And I'm assuming it's not cheap, esspecially after the ammo!)

there is no waiting list to go WATCH. and it's practically free, about like most gunshows. under $10

getting a spot on THE line is like getting NFL season tickets.

however, there is an area where anyone can go and pay to shoot machine guns.

and the gun show there is probably the best in the country. it's what you think EVERY gun show should be like

Every man who has ever owned a gun needs to attend the shoot at least one time. Sort of like the Grand Canyon, maybe there are prettier, but there ain't any bigger!

One of my favorite experiences...ever

I had heard about the 'shoot years ago and finally went in October 2008.
An incredible experience that will have any firearms enthusiast grinning ear-to-ear from morning till night. I know I sure was, and I made a YouTube video of each visit.
I've been there twice, and plan on attending a similar event at Big Sandy this October near Wikieup, Arizona.

The most important thing, believe it or not, is to arrive early unless you're camping at the Knob Creek Range campground. If you show up early, you can
get the best parking spot(s), which fill up with unbelievable speed. It's also your best shot at getting a spot that isn't all muddy - it's not just a cosmetic
issue for your car - if there's been a significant amount of rain, your chances of getting stuck increase dramatically.

it's getting close! my 5320.20s are approved and i'm heading up friday morning... w000t

I will be there as well, leaving out tomorrow, gonna be there from bright and early Thursday morning till a few hours after closing time Sunday.
This will be my first one, personally, I am greatly looking forward to it.

Will be leaving about 4am Friday, will be spending the Friday and Saturday at the shoot. Driving home after the night shoot on Saturday

I have been wanting to go my whole life and I recntly moved to Nashville Tennessee so I am trying to decide if I should go or not. If I do go I will probably go early friday morning so I can participate in the old bolt action rifle shoot. But I will have to pay $10 more to register. Because I didnt pre register two weeks in advance.

Hope I see y'all there

brother in arms,
You really should go, I used to live 45 minutes away and went 3 or 4 times. It is THE most fun a man can have, at least with his drawers on:evil:

Try to be there for the first shots at 9am, there just ain't nothing like hearing the RO yell "ready on the right?, ready on the left? ROCK AND ROLL!" only to be drowned out by the roar of 40 or 50 full autos, brings a chill to my spine and a tear to my eye

was a very, very good time

great show, found some great deals, packed out a lot more than i packed in, despite shooting most of the ammo i brought

Knob Creek is one of those trips everyone needs to make even if you don't shoot while there. Great bargains can be had.
