Some of you folks are as bad as the zero tolerance ????weeds who are ruining our schools!

Amen - I have been at KC once or twice and simply follow the rules, when I am your house I follow your rules it is as simple as that. IF you do not allow smoking inside, I do not smoke; if you don't allow foul language, I don't swear (don't anyway). Just a simple way to get along.[

Nothing wrong with Cold Range rules. Me, I prefer to shoot at places where Hot Range rules prevail, but no biggie either way. Thinking about it, if I were the one buying the liability insurance, I'd like Cold Range rules better than I do as a shooter.

I'm moving this over to Rallying Point, which is probably a better place for it.

Headding up Thursday AM in motorcamper with wife and the Guncraft gunsmith.

Gonna be at the Crest Ultrasonic tent behind the pole barn most of the time during the day.

Just got back. Pretty good time as usual. Didn't notice till just now some of the hyper reaction (ahem Bogie ) to me suggesting you don't bring loaded guns in. Was just trying to let some of you know who hadn't been before, knowing how some people are about carrying their weapons everywhere.

Personally, I decided not to return based on the prohibiltion against carrying sidearms. Same for the local gun shows. Enough of that nonesense from our enemies not to let our allies get away with it.

Just got back and I'm a little confused re the sidearms issue. The rules as I read them were that you could not have ammunition in a weapon unless you were on one of the ranges. I saw plenty of guns in holsters while there and saw several longarms carried around (even cleaned some of them). They all had zip ties through the action, but there they were. I also saw mag carriers that had mags in them, perhaps even full mags. Considering the amount of gun handling going on I thought these rules were reasonable as they were intended to help insure the safety of the attendees.

The new pole barn is very nice allowing wider aisles and much better lighting. The old one is going to be replaced with a matching version of the new one.

Cleaned tons of cosmo covered SKSs from Coles and almost as many of the M44s they sold. They kept sending folks down to us to get their goopy guns de-gooped and we kept cleaning them. A dozen HKs, ARs, and AKs were cleaned and we even cleaned a Browning 30 cal beltfed and an M60. The worst thing was a trio of Maxim kits that seemingly had been packed in enough cosmoline to give each part an even 1/4 inch covering of that stuff:barf: . While it only took 5 to 7 minutes to clean a 2,000 round HK or AR or AK to fresh from the factory clean it took an hour on each of the Mixim kits. Won't do that again.

I was very unhappy with several groups of jerk campers that whooped and hollered until the wee hours of the morning, left large fires unattended in the windy conditions, and blared music well into the night. For $10 a head per day for primative (no bathhouse, hook ups, water, etc.) camping KCR should divide the camp area into adult and dumb ass zones so that we wouldn't have to put up with such behavior. If not, I'm tempted to take my money to the KOA next time. At least they have a bathhouse and people don't act like jerks.

hso,
Did you say anything to the DA's, or mention it to Security?
I've found a calm face to face does wonders. When that fails, security is told and they slowly get on it.

I should have, but just tried to get back to sleep. Good advice and I'll take it next year.

Bogie, these guys made you folks sound like a monastary on a vow of silence. Yahoooing contests, ape calls, leaping through huge fires were just evidence of too much youthfull exuberance accelerated with alcohol.

I'm an old whitewater boater and have seen many a thing around a campfire that most folks wouldn't admit, but us wet-heads always made a point of not disturbing others in the campground.

I'll take dadman's advice next year and ask the marshals to remind them of common courtesy.
