Knoxx Compstock fit 20ga 870??

Ok looking to get a 20ga 870 for wife. Wanted to get an autoloader the 1100s are a little out of the price range so I thought I could try out the 870 20ga and a comstock.... but it just says it fits the 870... is there a difference in the 20 ga and 12ga 870 receivers?


Anybody ever used the compstock? Good for the wife?


would love to get the 870 reliability if I can tame the recoil for the misses...

knoxx makes the specops stock for the 870 20ga, but I don't know about the compstock. 12ga stocks will not fit the 20ga receiver with out modifications, you will need a dremel to make it fit. I have a hogue 12" LOP stock for a 12ga and made it fit (dremel) on a 20ga 870, it looks good and works fine. It just takes a little time and fitting.

what about Mossberg 500 12 ga and 20 ga? Are they the same receiver... if not I think I could modify it with a dremel

The mossberg 12 and 20 can use the same buttstock, there will just be a very slight overhang or underhang around the receiver. I have a mossberg 500 20ga with a 12ga hogue 12" LOP stock and it works and looks good. With the mossberg "no dremel will be needed"
