Anyone here own a Korth revolver or have any experience? Spendy beasts that seem to be built like no other. I'd like to see some good pics if you have any.

Sweet revolver, nothing quite like them.
We have sold more than a couple over the years.
You get what you pay for if that is your thing and pay you will.

Yeah I gotta Korth .357 blued with gold engraving in the glove compartment of my Rolls Royce. It's merely a throw down "just in case". :neener:

$5,000?

If I pay that much for a gun it better have a selector switch on it. Although I have always wanted a "Scheibenrevolver."

I have only seen pictures

I have only seen pictures and at that price I would not buy one even if I had Donald Trump's money. I am afraid Freedom Arms is about as pricey as I would go for any factory built revolver. I cant imagine any level of quality that would make that gun worth the asking retail price. Even at half that price it would be over priced.

What is so special about Korth to warrant such prices? I guess if the photos on their website is any indication their guns are still put together mostly by hand. If that isn't the case then I don't have a clue. Give me a Ruger.

Seem like fine revolvers but when the $6,000 version is still not the Deluxe version (up to $11,000), you got to wonder who they are selling to. Shieks and the such, I guess.

I don't know folks, I love knowing that such things exist and that people will buy them.

I'd never buy one (I couldn't justify a Python, my 686 does fine at half the price), I'll also never buy a Rolls Royce or a truly fine rifle.

It just does my heart good to know that there are people out there who will make something outstanding without regard to price and other people who will buy it (and can afford to) for no other reason than that it is so well made. Is it any better made than my S&W? I'd bet on it. I'd be willing to bet you could see yourself in the inside of the side-plate. Will it do anything my Smith won't? Probably not (and probably isn't a strong enough word). Still, it's nice to hold something up and say "This is what people are capable of making when quality is more important than price".

Gun-Tests magazine did a review on a Korth in the past year or two and they are really extraordinary revolvers. Everything about them (hardness of the metal, their proprietary finish, extremely close tolerances and fine machining, etc,) is as good as can be done. But, is that worth 10 times a 686? If money is no object, sure. Just like my watch. It keeps good time. I don't need one costing bunches more that will only lose 1 second every 5 billion years. Even though there are incredible differences in the 2 watches, there are no PRACTICAL differences to me.

This thread got me thinking (ouch!). Every now and then somebody will start a thread about how they wish S&W would bring back the .357 Registered Magnum. Well there you go. If S&W did such a thing ( and made it in the same manner as they did in the 30's) you would be paying similar prices. I'll go with a 686 or a GP100 if you're talking a new revolver.
