You won't get much useful information. I don't recall ever being in an online discussion with anyone who actually owned one but there will be lots of folks who never even saw one chiming in that you're only paying for a name. Which makes no sense because most shooters won't even recognize the name. Personally, I don't have a problem with a $5000 revolver but I find them to be lacking aesthetically. I'd still love to thoroughly examine one inside and out to find out just how finely they are made.
I figured I won't get much useful information short of calling the US facility but I'd rather hear 3rd party reviews & such over the sales pitch I'd get calling them.
Gee whiz, man. If you've got that much cash to spend on a revolver just buy it and judge for yourself. Don't forget to post a review and some pics so the rest of us can have a little gun pron too.
To CraigC below... I was joking (mostly). Chill, dude.
Just because you're willing to spend $5000 on a revolver doesn't mean you have $5000 to just throw away. I spent $4000 on a shotgun but that doesn't mean I went into it blindly or that I had $4000 to just throw away, nor do I light my cigars with hundred dollar bills.
Years ago in Germany I handled a couple, shot one of them. While I agree they are not exactly "eye candy", the fit, finish and function were truly a marvel. At the time my presentation cased S&W 25-2 cost $350 the Korth was in the thousands then. BTW they didn't shoot themselves.
At least from the votes in the thread people are telling the truth about their experience with this gun. I wonder if the same could be said for the majority of other and cheaper guns?
Very familiar with then, one of these days ill actually buy one. Never seen one in real life, but like rcmodel says, only one was made and its pictures are all over the internet.
If you have an extra 5.2k here is one you can buy.
I have ACTUALLY handled one at a gun show. I did not fire any ammo through it. The quality was really nice. However, it wasn't OMG that's awesome or anything. The cylinder release was a weird lever deal.
Dude was asking (and not getting) $7500. I told him they're like $5000 NIB. He said... they're so hard to get, super rare, finest revolver made and they have a waiting list of
forever and day.
I said.... "Good for them."
In all honesty, it was nice BUT a well tuned Colt Python or Performance Center S&W for about half the price would be a better investment for a real shooter. If you want to put it on the wall of your summer home in Hamptons and talk alot of b.s. to other wanna-be aristocrat yuppies then buy the Korth.
North of this one, about guns and evidence.
While I'm not paranoid, what would happen to such an expensive piece if it got used for defense and held as evidence? I know of a NJ resident that had a trap gun destroyed because it was stolen and used in a robbery and assault.
I've known they exist for near as long as I've been interested interested in firearms, but I can't say I've ever come across one in person. There is an FFL I know of that caters to a certain celebrity. I've been told candidly that this celebrity has transferred in several Korths, as well a number of other unusual, rare, and enormously expensive firearms. I have met the man, but I didn't get myself invited to dinner or anything..heh. I wish I had known at the time I met him that he had an interest in firearms, then I would have had something to talk about.
