The stupidity of it is they didn't use an AW. It was a post-ban legal AR-15, thus it shouldn't even be listed in their 'reasons' to persuade you.

*I* know that its not an "assault rifle" and *YOU* know its not an assault rifle. Fact is tho that people equate SKS's, AR15's,M14's,AK47's etc etc w/ military type "assault" rifles. Mostly cause they are... since they are sporter versions of rifles designed for use in the military. (thus not "technically" an assault weapon)

My point was - the idgit COULD have used a deer gun, or a single shot thompson contender for that matter... Its not like the guy unloaded 10 shots in ea victim - it was pretty much one shot out as i recall. Kind of a odd way to try to prove that a "assault weapons ban" needs to continue. I mean what... he didn't have to reload till 2 weeks later? (stupid press)

Personally its right up there w/ calling him a sniper. He wasn't a sniper - a sniper is a military person - who's trained to use his skill in war in defense of the nation. That guy was a criminal. One who apparently knew how to shoot... but just a criminal none the less. Not as glamourus to just call him a criminal tho i guess... gotta get those ratings.

at least they "showed" both sides. I too went through with 'yes" to read what the pro-kill-it side info was (and got the "you voted" page). Can't say both were correct, but (my bias) I had trouble believing stats on the ban support side.
