I was really bored the other day and decided to paint my long guns using Krylon spary paint in gray and beige. I know that the finish will wear off and that it does not offer any protection, but I wanted to see how the color combination would look like before investing in DuraCoat products.
I like the Krylon a lot. My SU 16 C was painted in January and so far no problems at all, my A model was painted about 16 months ago and still looks ecent. Notice I didn't say good, because it was my first paint job. I think it would be pretty easy to take off it you wanted to though, you are supposed to abrisively blast before duracoating anyway. I went with the Mall Ninja digital look.
On Plastic, it does. If not better. I have duracoated guns for people and used Krylon plastic paint on others. The Duracoat goes on fairly heavy and always looks to me like its fairly thick. Now this may be a good thing. The Krylon colors the plastic, but doesn't "Seem" thick. I like it....
NOW, This is not on any of the metal peices at all. Then Duracoat is the best choice.
