Hello I'm starting to build a hog/coyote ar and am thinking of getting the ke arms kp 15 polymer lower but it says it uses a carbine spring and buffer and comes with a 3oz. Buffer I will be running a faxon gunner 18in barrel with a rifle length gas system and was wondering if this would cause issues thanks

Short version, no it won't be an issue.

Long version: the carbine buffer system refers to it being able to accommodate a carbine type collapsing stock, not the fixed rifle stocks.

You can run rifle buffer system with pistol gas system, or vise-versa they're independent of each others. As long as you're running the correct buffer and spring for the buffer tube, you should be fine. There is a difference between a rifle buffer weight, and a carbine buffer weight.

I have run a carbine and rifle buffer with that same barrel and have had no issues faxon18.jpg

I have personally run:

Mid length gas: carbine buffer
Mid length gas: rifle buffer
Carbine gas: rifle buffer
Pistol gas: rifle buffer
Pistol gas: carbine buffer
Rifle gas: carbine buffer

They all worked just fine dandy.

Currently running an 18" barrel with Rifle gas/Carbine buffer for my general purpose AR.

I think a rifle buffer shoots a little softer, but I had the carbine parts laying around, so here we are.
