what website has the best deal on kydex supplies for making holsters. This will be my first attempt.

I use knifekits.com also. Shipping can be a killer on small orders or 1 site will have 90% of what you want and 1-2 items at another...but only if you are picky like me. Both places have all the basics and more.

It is pretty easy, you will find your way of doing it. I got into it to make a holster and speedloader pouches for my wife's revolver since there wasn't much of an option. The speedloaders are so curved I had to hand form them, press didn't work. I just heated with heat gun until the kydex went soft then formed it with my gloved hands until it set.

Couple tips: #1 always test tension wearing the holster, the belt will lock the gun in like a vice when tension seems "perfect" just in the holster not worn. #2, use something small and hard like a pen cap to divot behind the trigger guard on the back. This holds the gun in without play and it pops free on the draw. Pressing your finger against the trigger guard makes a rounded area and it has slop to it.

I get most of my stuff from Knife Kits too. As strambo mentioned, shipping can be a killer (and it is for most of them), so its best to think ahead when you order.

If youre just getting started, look around on You Tube. Lots of good ideas there, and you can definitely learn a thing or two.

I made my own press based on what I saw someone else using, and saved myself a few bucks.
