12 jurors and 6 alternates were selected. all 18 heard the testimony so as to prepare for this eventuality.

The consensus is usually that he had every right to be there and he was a brave hero. It was these same type of people and mindset that mostly coerced Kyle into thinking it was a good idea to go there open carrying an AR. With that said, none of these people would ever send their teenage son or daughter their alone.

I don't disagree with that but Stupid places, stupid people, stupid actions is something to consider. One has to decide if the penalty you will pay is worth it.

If ever there were an illustration of why you don’t fight someone else’s fight this is it. The only way I’m getting involved in a riot is if it’s happening on my lawn, or it’s blocking the path between me and my home.

Volunteering for trouble is a good way to find it. I’ve had enough involuntary trouble that I’m not planning on signing up for any extra helpings.

How do you define volunteering for trouble and someone else’s fight? Does it have to be visible and headed your way? Does it have to threaten family, friends, associates? Crash through the gates of your neighborhood but bypass your individual house?

Apparently judge and his family have received death threats and he is now under police protection ... I won't be surprised if jurors are concerned for their safety and safety of their families. I do not believe the trial will end peacefully.

If the judge and jury are being threatened, at what point is there a mistrial due to intimidation? It certainly affects the ability to get a fair trial.

Just in the last few hours the defense filed for a mistrial with prejudice, a major reason being that the video that allegedly proved "provocation" was a reduced version of the actual video and the prosecution did not provide the defense with the actual video until after the trial.

@wiscoaster is correct here. I quoted Jared from memory rather than reviewing the video, and I got it wrong, so I have to own this one. I have corrected/edited my original post to reflect that. My apologies. I haven't been this embarrassed since the last time I was this embarrassed.

I have been on two juries (PA) and in both cases the alternates were dismissed once deliberations were begun.
