I've searched all over the net & have yet to find any actual list of postwar s/n lists for my Husqvarna m/40. I've narrowed it down to about 1949 for Danish export since it has Husqvarna etc. on the left top side of the slide. The opposite side has no markings other than "Made in Sweden" in small lettering.
The rear has the Crown & HV below it. Grips are black checkered plastic with Swedish symbol near the tops of each.

The s/n is D90xx which indicates it was made about 1949 by process of elimination.
Does anyone have a link for the actual s/n lists.....or.....
can anyone actually narrow it down by year for me?

If so, I'd greatly appreciate the info.
Thanks.

From a lot of research online, this is a post war version. Sweden recalled all wartime Husky m40's in the 1990's for safety concerns arising from some accidents caused by cracked slides caused by the earlier use of hot machine gun 9mm ammo. They destroyed about 50000 weapons, almost all that were made. What remains, besides the earlier Finn Lahti L35's & some other Husq's sold to other countries such as Israel, are the 10000-13000 made after WW2. I think their s/n's began with about #5000 in latter 1945 on through the mid or early 1950's. Those made for the Danes have the D prefix like mine. Some were for the Danish police post war & have additional stamping on the right side. Mine does not other than a small "Made in Sweden" stamp & was therefore most likely made for Denmark but not made for the Danish police. I am very certain mine with it's D90xx s/n is from 1949 or very close to that year. I cannot say each successive year post war numbering began with the next thousand number in sequence, but it may have. In other words, 5000+ in 1945, 6000+ in 1946, 7000+ in 1947 & so on. That could be but it's simply a guess on my part that I have not seen in writing anywhere. It just might be that is the way they numbered them however. I don't know. Can anyone definitively corroborate that ?

Others I have seen that have been identified by their owners as made in a given year seem to put my 90xx number in a bracket around 1949.

I think you might have the date wrong.

Somewhat under D15000 indicated to me as 1946.

I conclude my Husky went to Denmark to help the victors of the War mop up the Nazi opratives.

If you PM me I will call on the phone.
