Not taking the idea as my own but in the thread about "Have you ever met a THR member" one post suggested a pin or something so we could id each other on the street . Anybody on the board got the expertise to put such an idea into fruition? I would sure buy one or a THR sweatshirt or hat

I looked it up rather quickly, and the actual production costs would be about 300 dollars. Then, of course, somebody has to design them. I would be willing to do the design in exchange for a free pin...

Correia "Molon Labe" with a Greek Helmet as the centerpiece?

To use 19th century parlance, if two THRers wearing these pins were to meet, would it be "Greek met Greek." It has an honorable connotation to it as both were worthy of each other (unlike fighting the Persians, Medes and what-nots).

Not really. Some of us work for groups that don't appreciate the peace symbol at all and won't take an extra second to read the small print.

Really, an "exclusive" Molon Labe pin would say it all. After all, it means to be peaceful, to not make the first move, but that when your back is against the wall, you'll fight with all you've got.

I like the Molon Labe Idea. ;)

TFL and THRer "Gun-Fucious" created this logo, and I loved it so much, I used it for the centerpiece of my novel's cover.

I think it would look great on pins or hats or anything else.

Some of us can wear the peace through superior firepower button at work only because it has small print that people won't take an extra second to read the small print!:D

Secret handshake.

We need a secret handshake.

And maybe one of those coder/decoder thingies that came with old comic books... :D

How about our own pin in something simple like the initials THR with a gun below/behind it?

After wearing my "Peace Through Superior Firepower" pin on a hat, my trapshooting vest, etc. I've decided that most people don't look at your pins.

:(

They look!

I wear an NRA pin in my lapel daily at the college where I teach. It makes my day to hear their disapproving "Oh!" when I explain what it is!

To antagonize those who won't ask, I try to carry a gun magazine (the printed kind) with me.

A persistent rumor claims that I carry a pistol in my briefcase; I don't, but have not refuted the rumor.

:D

Hey ambidextrous1.....great to hear about the pin.

I don't wear a pin because at the college where I teach, I never wear lapels.

I tend to wear jackets and ties only to funerals, and then only to the funerals of folks I really liked.

But I do drive a pickup to campus with a couple of NRA bumper stickers.

And I have a poster of Winston Churchill toting a tommy gun up in my office, near my newspaper clipping about Carlos Hathcock's death.

At my college, the most frequent comment about the NRA or guns I'm likely to hear is "Hey, when are you doing the next CCW class? My wife and I would like to sign up."

I would definitely prefer a baseball-style hat . . .

I wear a DSA tan cap, with the flag and rifle, and have had several people (strangers - non shooters) tell me that it is neat, even though they have no idea of what DSA is. I also wear an HK black cap (red letters), and have had friends ask me what HK is.

A cap with a logo that includes the American flag and a firearm would be nice... I think. If a cap is made, I hope it is the kind that keeps its shape, please.

I'd still like to have a THR pin.

I was thinking something like this:

I'll be the first to say that I'm no artist. But what do you think? No guns, no snakes, just the web site.

Or maybe even this?

matt,

that looks great! how would we go about making them? i'd consider footing the startup if its only a few hundred dollars. of course i'd be able to resell them to recooperate my costs! :)

Why not the header at the top of this page (with Oleg's permission)? That would be most recognizable to other members and doesn't yell "gun" or isn't quite as "in your face" like some of the others. Or let Oleg decide and design it.

I agree with Steve regarding the "peace sign." Doesn't work for me and most people can't/don't see the words.
