Okay guys, 2 years ago went to a sporting goods store n of houston, similar to Bass Pro or Cabelas, it had a stuffed elephant in the store. Please name that store and location? Maybe around Conroe, it was night and I wasn't driving. Thanks for any help. Mac

It could have been an Oshmans.

That is Gander Mountain, there's one in Spring which is a bit south of Conroe. There is indeed a stuffed elephant there.

Thats what I thought, hadn't been there in a while, a lil far from the west side of Houston.

Wow, I didn't even know Oshmans' still even had any locations open here

Thanks guys, I'm getting old and forgetful. Now all I need is a wheelbarrow full of money and I can leave out of there a Happy Man.

Now I remember. It is to the east of I45 just south of the high school there.

I used to live in the Woodlands and have visited that store many times.

I forgot about the elephant. Also, it is about 10 miles south of Conroe so that is what got me confused.

I forget what exits to use but there is an old very tall microwave tower on the west side of I45 just opposite the Gander Mt store. Or at least it was still there when I left in 2007.

Yes, I miss that old blimp myself. I saw it many times as I moved there in 1981.

JellyJar, you miss Houston? I lived there for a while myself and Houston is one of the last places outside of CA, Cook Co IL, NYC or NY that I would consider living in.

There are still a number of Carter's Country stores around town. They aren't quite how they used to be though
