Larue

[TBH]

I would like to pick up one high end ar before I end up too old to enjoy it. Looked at L.B for a couple of years and even pulled the trigger on a purchase once only to find three months later my LGS never ordered it.
Now Larue has caught my eye. With a one and a half to two year wait I checked out G.B. site. Why are they trying to get two or more times the price of a new Larue?
Does anyone know when they are going to start to make the "Costa" rifles again?

They are charging that much because you can get one now rather than waiting for 2 years. Personally I think it's stupid. Firearms are investments as well and by paying two times the cost, you will put yourself in a hole that you can't get out of. That and I would never pay more than what a rifle is worth.

Have you called them to discuss their wait? or are you going by what someone stated online?

If thats what you want dont settle, you wont be disappointed.

all can be had sooner and cheaper. and they are damn good quality.

hell, if your looking to spend big bucks on an AR-type rifle, you can get into a SCAR 16 or Robinson XCR for that type of money.

Go get any upper and lower with BCG

drop in Geiselle, Timney, CMC trigger group

add Shilen, Krieger or Lilja barrel

you will shoot 1/2 or better for $1500

My brother ordered a 5.56 OBR late last year or early this year. He called and talked to the good folks at LaRue and was told it would take up to a year. Last time he checked he only had 4 more months to go. Maybe less. They send him updates every month or so with where he is in line.

I like the other things Mark does like the commemorative dillo he did as a fund raiser for Chris Kyle's family, so I can understand wanting to support them. Plus, you get all those extra goodies in the box.

That said, if you want one now, there are faster options that probably aren't suffering in quality a bit.

Something is worth whatever the market will pay. I have Colt and have been absolutely satisfied with it. Honestly, I would say build one out of high end parts.

Hmmmm... quaility BCG 250, Giselle trigger 250, Lilja 450-600... What are you gonna fill the rest of the gaps with junk to reach a price point? When you can buy a PedatAR for 1600+
