My last trip to American Shooter's Supply this week ended in disappointment. The new boss (whether shift boss, management boss, don't know) chewed me out for loosing two 10-round magazines of .22LR on their pistol range "faster than one round per second".
They've always had a "no rapid fire" rule for their
rifle range, which I have no problem with, but insising on such a rule for the pistol range, with a .22LR on a 20-ish lane line with only two other people present is just ridiculous. After we were done, I'd asked to speak to the 'boss', ended up speaking to the same guy who doesn't like "rapid fire" .22LR, and confirmed that they are now enforcing their 1-shot-1-second rule on the
pistol range. I'd pointed out that this was fairly recent change and that, being as all twenty of my shots were both on paper and in a comparatively small group, I felt that such a rule change would no longer allow me to justify frequenting their business. The reasoning given was that "others will also 'rapid fire' and shoot down my target wires" - so everyone is held responsible for the (potential) behavior of a few.
I no longer recommend American Shooter's Supply - will have to check out Discount Firearms' range.
