Hello,

I have poor vision. I can correct it to 20/20 with contacts (and I do, for all waking hours.) I can do 20/20 with glasses, but they are kind of fishbowl/wide angle when you are used to contacts, but workable. I'm running about a -8.00 power in the dominant right eye, and -6.5 in the left eye. This is about 20/400 and 20/250 respectively.

For those who have good vision, that equates to being able to see and navigate in your surroundings, and recognize people out to about 25 yards. It does not lend itself to reading past 3 feet, and the critical part, it does not lend itself to precision sight lining up. I will grab the contacts if I can, the glasses if I can't, but nothing if I can't grab anything at all. I own my own acre, and I live by myself, and I replaced the drywall during the renovation, so there are no friendlies during a home invasion scenario and I am confident in my legal right to defend my home against anyone pursuant the laws of my state in this situation.

A weapon I am outfitting is a Benelli M4. It has an optics rail and nice set of ghost ring irons/ night sights factory. No other rail, although aftermarket is available.

I am in search of a, if it exists, optic/ laser for the top rail. If it does not exist, I may get an optic for the top rail, an aftermarket fore end rail, and strap a green laser that I already own and do not use on it. I have seen the "pattern laser" products to indicate a spread, and they might work, though I think "aim for the center of the dot" is sufficient.

Your recommendations on a product are appreciated.
