Do any of you have experience/recommendations for laser training for pistols? Last summer while back home (where I grew up) my nephew let me try his Laserlyte pistol and target unit. It was fun and great practice but I think I would prefer one with the laser cartridge that fits in the pistol you carry and a target that would indicate where the laser pulse hit in order to practice this winter without blowing through a lot of ammunition.
Thanks

We’ve discussed this several times, if you search for my comments you should find at least one of the discussions

Craig, thanks for giving me the references but they are either very old or not germane to my question since technology has advanced a lot from 10 years ago. I guess I will go do another Duck search online.

Steel Horse,
I understand. I just ran a search on "laser dry fire training" and found there are a lot of products and also full systems. Some of the products are only the guns or laser-snap caps, but full systems include reactive targets or target scoring apps using a phone or tablet. For over a year I have been using a MantisX2 and 10 dry fire trainer, which is excellent, but does not use a laser. Mantis has introduced a laser training system, also, but I have no experience with it. You can find a lot of YouTube demonstrations on both, including in the Active Self Protection Extra channel, which Mantis sponsors.
In addition, recently Dan Bongino has been having advertisements for a different laser dry fire system, iTarget, on his radio show. Again, I know nothing about iTarget other than the radio ads.
I really like the Mantis product, which works on pistols, rifles, shotguns, and even bows, but you do not see the target hit live; you see it only when reviewing the data on the app (unless you use it in live fire, which is available). With laser systems you can see the light on the target, and also in the app if it uses a camera recorder on your phone.
