I make an occasional knife. This is one I finished up last week. My grand daughter asked me to make her a knife and she requested black and turquoise. Blade is 1095 and 4 1/4" long. Handle is ebony with a turquoise nugget inlaid on each side and is also 4 1/4" long. The ebony was brown when I got inside the block but she said that was ok.

Wow, just plain Wow! You do some very nice work and your granddaughter is a lucky girl. Of course it sounds like you are a lucky grandpa too.

That's part of you that she will remember and cherish long after you're gone.

That ebony is tough wood, you must be skilled.
All the other esthics and design are admirable, grandad.
A work like that given in love is satisfaction.

Thanks for the pats on the back.

The grand daughter is a great kid. Actually she is a grown woman and has a daughter so I'm twice blessed. She will always be a kid to me though.

I wasn't going to post a picture of the sheath but what the heck. :D She also told me she liked pink and zebra skin. I decided I would show her I could do that too. I couldn't find any small pieces of zebra skin print or pink leather and I wouldn't buy whole skins for just one sheath so I came up with this

The white leather I found is 8-9 oz. and appears to be about the same as red latigo which is tough stuff. Fiebing's black oil dye turned it into zebra skin and the lace gave it a pink accent. A little strip of black pigskin across the top added some solid black. It's hand sewn with with black hot waxed thread.

Can't afford another, BackPakin. I already have three and it seems like one is always coming in the back door wanting to borrow money. They pay it back but it's a lot longer than it takes them to get it. :banghead:

Thanks for the offer though. :D
