Stopped by walmart and these two rifles caught my eye, so I bought them on a whim. :)

Just kidding. My latest two are an RPK-74 from Vector (through Atlantic Firearms) and an AK-105 from Red Jacket. I am pretty excited about both of them.

I wanted to highly recommend Blaine from Atlantic Firearms (great guy) and the RPK-74. :D The finish was really good, the laminate wood excellent, and every 5.45 mag I had fit in the mag well fine. If anyone was on the fence about these- go for it and get one. You will not be sorry. In fact, I have a feeling RPK-74s are going to dry up pretty soon, so be aware the window is starting to close. :scrutiny:

The 105 was made by Will from Red Jacket. It is not an SBR, if you notice the barrel is long enough to make it legal. Will does really good work.

Just wanted to share some pics. I'll give a range report when I can. And yes, 5.45 x 39 is awesome. Rifle Country is the best sub-section of THR!!!! Enjoy your weekends.

Stopped by walmart and these two rifles caught my eye, so I bought them on a whim.

In a sanely-ordered society, you oughta be able to do exactly that...or, at the very least, Wal-Mart would stock Norinco AK's, SKS's, M14's and 1911's along with all the other Made In China stuff they sell.

Seriously though, congrats on the sweet rifles!

How much did the 105 run you if don't mind my asking?

I think it was 950. I ordered back in Dec or Jan, he does custom work. I originally thought it wouldn't look right (would look too long) and I would have to go the SBR route, but the compensator looks ok.

If you noticed I also added a Kobra optic and a bulgarian rubber pad which I got from Tantal.

On a side note- Will installed an optic rail and the paratrooper stock closes over it.

I saw these pics (below) awhile back and they fired up my imagination. All I would need now is a cheek rest, but from what I understand I'd have to get one off an SVD stock which would be impossible (or too $$$). :(

* I am a Warsaw Pact arms enthusiast . One of the reason I shared the pics of my latest two girlfriends, is to illustrate you can find some pretty good Soviet style rifles out there (other than WASRs, SKSs, and Mosins) if you look in the right places. :D

Yeah that is a beautiful gun. I know where my stimulus check is going to be dumped haha.

the 545 is far superior, even considered so by one of the origional AR designers.
I love that rpk, but my God, cant somebody in russian, even Mr. K. himself, do something about that safety???

you need to teach your cat about gun safety and how its not polite to look down the barrel of your owners RPK!! lol

nice guns btw!!!!

Wow those are really sweet. :D I especially like the RPK. I am so excited about the 5.45 right now. My stimuli czech is going towards another 5400 rounds of bulgarian surplus. :)

I remember looking at these photos like 5 months ago. Some commented that those are fake russian BDU's. I wonder if thats true.

Nice rifles....:)

I jumped on the RPK bandwagon myself.

Here's a picture of mine. It's a YUGO RPK built by Mark Krebs Custom Guns. I've added a POSP 6x42 scope on a Weaver-style side mount. I've invested a lot more in it than I probably should have, but it shoots great and is a lot more accurate than I ever expected:

I looked at my Walmart and didn't see any in the gun case. Temporarily out of stock I guess. :D

My AES-10B will do about 2 inches at 75 yards or so with my lead bullet reloads.

But I don't have a scope for it.

That Krebs RPK looks nice. :)

Yeah, for anyone who is an AK nut, an RPK is a nice expansion and you can't go wrong with it. It really compliments the other rifles in your collection (if you are into the Warsaw pact stuff). ;)
