RPK-74 questions

Does anyone here have any experience with the RPK-74? From what I understand Vector and/or Atlantic are the main source if you want to get one. I think they look pretty good and already have a large investment into 5.45 in the basement.

I am just checking if anyone has any comments or advice about them in regard to wood vs polymer, or how they shoot. Thank you!

Also, can anyone chime in about availability? I once heard that AK-74s in general are endangered.... and once they dry up they dry up. I imagine RPK-74s are the same way. How much of a window do we have left with them? (not factoring in Obama, etc)

There were far far less RPK74 kits imported than any type of AK74 kit.

Apart from the trunion, barrel and receiver, what's different about the RPK-74? With the barrel import ban, and having to make your own receivers, couldn't an enterprising company bang together their own RPKs?

um thats like, 90% of an AK

of course a company could make its own ANYTHING here in the US but not nearly as cheap
