So I want to purchase an AK-74. To be a CT legal AK-74 the bayonet lugs must be sanded off. I want to purchase a Interarms AK-74 but Atlantic Firearms said that they can't ship to CT. My local gun store carries Century's but they went $600 for a Century AK-74, a bit too high. Does anybody have any experience with getting AK-74 in CT? There is a Cabelas pretty close by and I am thinking about asking around there to see if they can get one.

Almost impossible to get one in Ct for cheap. The wholesalers and internet co.will not ship to gun stores in CT.So a FFL has to get them some other way and modifie them before selling, hence the markup. It makes me sick because we have to pay double the price as everybody else!

I learned of this unfortunate truth when I was in the market for an AK. I've given up, as spending 2x the price anywhere else, isn't worth it to me.

I am just going to save my duckets and buy myself a good AR.

Anything with "AK" in it's name is illegal in CT...but variants with different names that are not in 7.62x39 are OK, if denuded of the bayonet lug and bbl threads.

I'm in CT, and went with a Saiga 308 for my AK fix... .308 is over 6mm so you could use it deer hunting, unlike the .223 or 5.45x39.

Another option is the PSL.

So I called up BMG guns today and they said they had some Century's, some High Standards ($699), and a couple of Arsenals.
