laws for gun confiscation

I would go and talk to the local sherrif/police supervisor/chief first. Then if there is one more instance, find the #1 criminal lawyer in the area...particularly a politically connected lawyer. RECORDS< RECORDS< RECORDS!!!!!

It has been my experience that if you go and question a lawyer, the first vist is "no charge"...especially if the question is "what can I do".

Around here at least, there are several that will "contact" the "proper person" for free, and if they have an ax to grind, take you on for free.

Of course, that ax may be double bladed, so be careful. Political connections do help...a lot. It might be time to make a few.

They can take your guns as evidence if they believe that your guns were used to commit a crime that they're investigating and charging.

If your guns haven't been used to commit a crime, and you are not in danger of being indicted for a crime, you really don't have anything to worry about.

You could have a similar address to someone with "issues". We constantly got mail for someone with a nearly identical address, except for "Place" vs. "Drive". We were also the brunt of several T-P's in a short time, meant for their teenager.

Id invest in a good gun safe. At the very least it will delay them long enough to get your lawyer present if they try to confiscate anything. I agree, 4 "oops" isn't an "oops" at all. Even if it is "wrong addresses with the alarm company" that stuff needs fixed or legal action needs taken.

i was gonna suggest you're paranoid, but after Katrina when the Police and Guard were taking law abiding citizens guns, and that you live in NOLA Id be concerned too

Hopefully its nothing

I would venture that it is likely the prior resident was of interest to the police. We're going through that right now. We bought a foreclosure that had been empty for a couple of years. Apparently, some of the prior residents didn't bother changing their drivers licenses, credit records, etc. because we get lots of mail from collection agencies. There seem to have been some legal issues, as well. We're getting mail from a local police department and from the Texas Department of Public Safety and had a visit from a county officer looking for one of them over a criminal matter.

We haven't had any unpleasant encounters, but I sure do wish these folks' drivers licenses would expire so they would have to give the authorities some other address.

Except getting them back undamaged, or EVER.

I agree with the previous homeowners being of interest to them.
A few years ago we had homeland security at our door. I do not exaggerate when I say 20 officers with weapons drawn were in my driveway. The previous owners of our house were "people of interest".

yes ... but did they come back 4 more times?

As for the two alarms: Wires get crossed, communication gets mixed up. I'd guess they were just honest mistakes.

As for the two subpoena servers: I'd guess they were legit. They tried service with an address someone had given them. I'd guess after the second time you told them the addressee listed doesn't live there. The courts will quit trying service.

I don't see how either has anything to do with your guns....No offense, I think you are being over paranoid.
I agree. If the police are trying to keep tabs on you what are they going to see from your front door? Ooooh the big bad couch? That evil coffee table? Oh no, an entertainment center! They gain nothing from coming to your door.

It's New Orleans. Given the news out of there lately, he's lucky the police didn't shoot him and burn his body in his car.
