When Ruger came out with the LCP Max I got one of them and I really like it. Ok sights and trigger. But the weight of the extra ammo is the only down side.
If you want to stay with 380 I would go with the LCP MAX. Better sights, better extractor, more capacity, and a reversible magazine release (for us left-handed shooters). Ruger definitely made improvements with this option.
If you want to get away from the Ruger LCP series I would go with a Glock 42 little bigger pistol with Glock reliability.
To be honest I never even thought about that. I just put up with the extra weight. I have been thinking of getting some sort of IWB holster to try out with it and see if I like that any better. Pocket carry is super convenient but not super practical.
So I carried a LCP for a long time. Moved up to the Glock when they came out with the 380Acp one. But it was just a bit to big for the pocket. Tried the Glock 9mm single stack with the same results. Picked up a Sig 365 and carried that for a while (yes in the pocket most of the time, cargo type pants at work). When Ruger came out with the LCP Max I got one of them and I really like it. Ok sights and trigger. But the weight of the extra ammo is the only down side. Now if they made a Hybrid LCP with the up grades of the Max sight and trigger I think that would be a pretty fair carry gun.
Actually I think that might be what the LCPII is but I have never tried one? I didn't like the blocky look of them.
Yep. If really thin, and really light, and really reliable are what you want, the original LCP is hard to beat. Now if you're willing to tolerate a little more weight, the Bodyguard makes much more sense. Actually like shooting mine; never could say that about the LCP.

S&W M&P 380 EZ. Wife has one and it's so easy to rack the slide. I believe it's slightly bigger than their 380 Bodyguard which means a full grip. Recoil is like a 22LR. God sights too. It's a bit ugly IMO but a good candidate.
