Ok guys I just picked up an LCR in 357 mag is it ok to dry fire it the manual claims it is but I want to hear from actual owners have you done this?

I have dry fired my KLCR thousands of times. You will not break a Ruger firing pin, or most manufacturers pins, but Rugers are especially beefy. BTW the trigger gets even nicer after a couple of thousand pulls.

First thing I did with mine was dry fired it 1,000 times watching football on tv. Then oiled per manual and dry fired it another 1,000 times.

Must say that really smoothed out the trigger in no time.:D

I bought a package of 6 snap caps, use them & dry fire till your hearts content. They are cheap insurance, but I don't think a reasonable amount of dry firing in a centerfire gun will hurt it.
