Remember to completely clean the bore when switching from lead to jacketed bullets. Fouling left from either one can affect the accuracy of the other. I like the older S&W guns for lead because of the cut rifling used. Its why I am not that fond of the new S&W guns because they use the EDM system to etch the rifling in the bore. It works very well for jacketed bullets but not so much for lead bullets. At least not in the 629 I owned. I could not get decent accuracy with lead bullets like my old model 29 that shot very good lead bullet groups at 25 yards.
