Over the last several years, many manufacturers were introducing lead-free ammunition. Seems like lately you don't hear much about these products. They still are available but are continue to be expensive in comparison to standard lead-based ammuntion.

I've always been interested in lead-free & non-toxic ammuntion (bullet and primer) for not only the health benefits of lessened lead exposure but also as a way to remove one more excuse the anti-gun crowd has to remove our RKBA -> the environmental and health impact of lead.

Seems like it's in our interest as supporters of the RKBA to support & encourage development of products that offer equivalent performance to lead-based products but eliminate the lead exposure/cleanup issues.

Any thoughts as to why these products haven't become more affordable or more widely adopted? Performance and pricing only? Should those of us concerned about the RKBA be pushing manufacturers to more aggressively develop and price these products?

depleted uranium

P95Carry,
I'm with you, I don't think depleted uranium will catch on either, unless they start allowing us to carry 30mm Gatling Guns... ;)
