Just like the title says I'm wondering if my lee perfect powder measures tendency to leak just a little bit of powder of the side during a throw is normal? I've had the thing for about 8 years...been doing it for as long I can remember...don't use it much as I'm usually on the ol Dillon 550. Powder scarcity has be not wanting to waste any precious powder so now it's bugging me

The one I used to have always leaked with fine ball powders like Ramshot True Blue. With flattened ball powders and stick powders no issues and always spot-on. It was always right on the money with True Blue too, it just about .2gr out the side on every throw too.

There's supposedly ways to stop the leaking but I never tried to. I was offered a dang good straight across trade for it so I got rid of it.

Tightening the screw on the side will help the problem, but I was not able to completely stop the leaking when using H110 powder. I quit using it and got a Uniflow measure instead.

Yeah, it's par for the course with fine powders. I've found if you disassemble and clean the white rubber wiped with alcohol on a q-tip, it cuts down on the leakage. Someone pointed out you can polish the rotor with fine steel wool but it didn't do that much for mine.

Tighten the screw. Kind of trial and error on how much.

This will also increase the tension on pulling rotor handle but should solve your problem. If not take it apart and clean it out. It may have clumped powder in there.

I tightened the screw on mine a bit and it doesn't leak with tight group, h335, or accurate no9.

Just place a piece of paper under it and when done funnel your few bits of dropped powder back into the jug.

I had that same issue. What I did is loosen the screw on the crank plate by the handle and poured dry graphite into the top (I didn't have the hopper on). I would push the level up and down, let the graphite come out the side, then slowly start tightening the handle to a comfortable level, the graphite shouldn't be coming out the side anymore.

You have to tap a number of times to get all the graphite out. Let it sit for several hours and then tap and crank again, there was still some graphite in mine when I did that.

I use to have severe leakage with AA#7, now I have zero leakage.

This is normal. If you have the time, you can lap fit your PPM so it stops leaking/crunching. You take off the handle, then turn the part that holds the measure while pressing it against the body. I used regular green buffing compound crushed up in a little mineral oil. This is a little too fine and takes a bit of time; it would probably help to use a coarser grit, like Ajax or silicon carbide grit to start. On my second PPM, I made a little drill adaptor to spin it. The only ball powder I haven't been able to handle in my PPM's is H110.

Thanks guys for the helpful posts...will try to tinker with it a bit and see what I can come up with. Losing powder these days is a no go in my book. On a side note I see my spelling in my OP could've used some help. Posting late at night with a few drinks doesn't help :D
