Learned a valuable lesson with my CCW ammo.

How ammo is stored does matter. Ammo that is on your person is NOT stored in a cool, dry place. That is why the ammo in the box was perfect, but not the ammo in the magazine.

Every CC'er must have a threshold since their carry ammo is not stored in ideal conditions.

What we are mainly talking about is powder degradation, however, there can be dead primers or cases without a flash hole.

It does not depend on manufacturer. Every manufacturer has a bad run. That they can control. However, they cannot control what conditions the ammo underwent after purchase.

One year when I was cycling out some ammo, I pulled the trigger and one of the cartridges just went click. It surprised me. It was great practice for clearing a malfunction. After that string, I was concerned for a moment that my Golden Hydra Duty Saber Dot Two wouldn't be there if I needed it. But I learned an important lesson that day:

Just because it's $1/rd, has nickel plated brass, is purchased in small boxes, and has been gel tested by everyone on youtube with near ideal conditions, doesn't mean that it is 100% effective over time under adverse storage conditions.
