While reloading this morning, I found out something that I had to pass on. Don't try to charge cartridge cases with powder before you prime the cases. Yup, after 30 years of reloading the brain can sometimes go into neutral.

I had alot of problems with cases not getting primers when I first started on my 550B - makes a mess, doesn't it? :)

Happened to me a few months ago with my hornet while I was loading 20 rounds, I felt pretty dumb!

Haven't had that lapse yet. I have screwed up the powder weight a couple times in the 20 years I've been doing this though. Luckily, they were both caught at the bench, not at the range.

This is why the "DO NOT DISTURB!!" sign goes up on the door, and the phone gets shut off when I'm in the reloading room.
