Learning to shoot - good books?

Any one know of some good books that will help me / my son (13) learn how to shoot a rifle better than just plucking deer out of the woods at 100-200 yards? Want to move towards learning to shoot 300+ yards, read the wind, etc.

Basic information, questions answered. Learn the very basics well and practice a lot till you learn your rifle well. Kind of like baseball - fundamentals are everything.
I will be doing a few months of "refresher" range time this spring - never hurts to re-learn the simple stuff.

Hey Frog, a very good overview of the basics is "The Art of the Rifle" by Jeff Cooper .

I'd also strongly urge for you and your son to attend an Appleseed event near you. PA has a very strong program. You will learn and hone the fundamentals necessary to shoot out to 500 yards.
