If you get a chance in your correspondence with Calvin, could you inquire [if] there has been any or might be some modification to the primer feed on their Automatic Case Primer (ACP) press.

The press works great...priming multiple calibers without the need for shell holders...but primers tend to flip on edge as they feed from the primer chute
I got this email reply from Calvin (MSRP is $190 but based on Titan Reloading's current pricing on old ACP of $90 for MSRP $140, retail pricing may be around $129):

Hello John,

I believe this press will be an ACP killer. Just started shipping last week.

Lee Precision, Inc.. Deluxe App Press

"The Lee Deluxe Automatic Processing Press gives you the same priming convenience found only on expensive progressive reloading presses.

We started with the basic APP, added the Roller Handle, Universal Case Feed Magazine and the APP Deprime kit. Then we fitted the tool with the Patented automatic primer feed system. There is no priming system made that is as fast, effortless, or uniform as the APP primer. Cases and primers are automatically fed. Primers are seated uniformly without “feel” or adjustments required. Safe with any brand or size of primer.

Change primer size in seconds. Simply twist out the priming chamber and swap out the pin and primer guide. No shell holders required! When you’re finished priming — simply twist out the priming tool and replace with the supplied shell holder adapter. Then you can use all the APP accessories available to Bulge Bust or Primer Pocket Swage."

Just picked up APP last month, bad timing on my part. Wondering if all of us with the older press can buy the plastic parts to convert it to the new style.

I'm saddened, but not in despair.

I also have the original Lee APP...currently using it for swagging primer pockets. It looks like the priming gear is all plastic and might be retro-fitted. If the system is similar to that on the SPP, it will surely kill the ACP

For some reason I thought that version of the APP had been out for a while. I have two of the original ones. One perm dedicated to .327 FM and one for other pistol calibers as needed. They save so much time I’m ok with still priming on the Lee Single Stage.

If parts become available separately I’ll probably upgrade but if not I’m good with them until they wear out and need to be replaced.

I have the original also but I won't be priming on it. I bought it for depriming and I'll keep that mess on it. May have to look at the new APP for a priming machine. Still looking for something to replace my Auto Prime ll for priming cases for my ABLP press.

I still feel my RCBS hand primer is fast and has a good feel to it, you get to know when you have a perfect seat from feel.

Also, my dillion has a wonderful, solid, reliable primer system.

This press would be good for people who don’t already have a APP.

Lee APP 4 LIFE! Red Side!!!

So, does it size, deprive, and re prime all in one operation? does it feed primers automatically? does it feed cases automatically?

Lee should make a APP bridge system, were it would just push the process case to the next APP press system, add what you want. Call it a Modular Progressive press. and a bar that can sync press handles… Patient PENDING! lol

I also have the original Lee APP
Got this email from Calvin today

Hello John,

We are looking at producing an ACP upgrade kit pricing would be in the area of $50 MSRP. It is not yet available like the Deluxe APP. It will be coming very soon.

APP owners will be offered the merchandise credit path forward by sending in their press. There are just too many parts required to convert APP to Deluxe APP.

Thank you @LiveLife.

I'll be more than happy to go either route.

Life has been much easier since I discovered the Inline Fabrication Quick Change mounts. I am about to retire my Lee Bench Prime...maybe just move it to the back of the shelf until I do some rifle reloading

lol! if Lee found a way to Bridge APP Press! it would be REVOLUTIONARY

Mr. Lee, I don’t work for free! lol
Find a way to convert one of these into a progressive
index.php

THEN you have something.

I'm not sure what that means exactly, but I'm definitely interested in the new model. May have to actually take the Rock Chucker off the bench to make space for this one. Ummm? Not sure about doing that. May have to go 9mmepiphany's route and get the quick change system.

I'm not sure it could mean anything other than: "You send us your APP, We give you credit toward the purchase of the new one"...which I wouldn't have an issue with.

I took a look at my APP this morning and it is pretty obvious that there isn't enough material (there's room for one vertical screw) to be adding a bunch of stuff to the existing chassis. I would believe alignment of the primer feed is very important to reliability
