A question about the Bullet Feeder on the Lee Pro 100 and the Loadmaster...specifically about rotating the tubes when using the Small Multi Tube Adapter.

When the Small adapter is installed and the Cylinder/Plate is in place, I've noticed that the smaller bullet tube (inside the larger tube) drops slightly into the bevel in top surface of the adapter.

When the Cylinder is turned, to bring the next tube in line, the tube hangs up in the bevel of the Adapter and prevents the Cylinder from rotating.

Is this a common problem and is there a fix for it?
Is there a secret technique that would make the operation smoother?

Thanks for sharing your experiences

Surprised nobody has taken a stab at this. Try PMing BDS or ljnowell or Jmorris. I think they have a Loadmaster

I have the single feed so my suggestion may not work, but I wonder if pulling the tube up slightly before you rotate it to the next tube might work? Call Lee as they may have a solution. I have found their customer service to be good.

I'll be paying close attention to this one because I am adding a feeder soon and I may want the four tube.

Bump!

Thanks for all the input.

I solved the issue late last night...it just needed a critical look under good lighting.

For those interesting in the how and why, I offer the explanation below:

The bushing, what Lee calls the Multi Tube Adapter, when screwed in, was sitting too low (.070") below the top surface of the Plate which supports the Cylinder of the tube adapter. This small difference in height allowed the smaller bullet tube to drop down just enough to hang up when I tried to rotate it.

The bushing, when removed, would fit completely into the Plate, but when mounted would sit just a hair lower.

Turns out that the Locator Pin of the Plate was a little too long and not allowing the assembly (Cylinder/Plate) to drop down enough. The Pin is just a press fit into the plate...a very tight press fit...and apparently the press depth varies a bit between assemblies.

A few minutes with various punches and hammers in the garage solved the problem...reduced the pin's protrusion, from the surface of the plate, from .680" to .596"...and now the Cylinder rotate freely between tubes.

I should mention that this may or may not be applicable to using the Multi Tube on the Lee Bullet Feeder assembly. My application was in adapting the Lee Multi Tube assembly to use with the Hornady Bullet Feeder Die

Noted and thanks. Now let us know well it works with an update huh?;)

I prefer to use the RCBS bullet feeder die with my loadmaster. It's a simpler design, reliable, and comparatively priced. It does take up one of the die stations though.

Sorry, I don't use a bullet feeder as I prefer to work the ram lever with right hand and feed bullets with left hand while case feeders feed the brass.

Although I now have four Pro 1000, I don't have a LoadMaster but do have a Dillon 650 that I prefer to do the same - right hand on the lever and feed bullets with left hand while case feeder feeds the brass.

Like Walkalong and many others, my right hand don't come off the lever unless I am reaching for a splash of refreshing beverage while I resupply the machine with primers/powder. :D
