Lee Classic Cast Breech Lock Press

I just bought a bunch of reloading stuff from a guy . One of the things I bought was what he said was the Classic Cast press for $80 dollars , so I jumped all over that price . Well I didn’t pull it out of the box when I meet him and I pulled it out yesterday and it is the Classic Cast Breech Lock model . Does anyone have any experience with that press and how do you like it ? I haven’t used it , but I don’t know if spent primers are going to fly all over the place with the way it is designed . I like the straight bottom drop like the Classic Turret and Classic Cast press has .

Works just fine provided you have a primer arm in place as shown. Thousands upon thousands decapped. And I do all my priming on it.

That is the very same loader I started with and still use today. For me, I see no need to upgrade. As already mentioned, keep one of the primer arms in place when depriming.
I run a plastic hose from the primer catch well to a wastebasket.

As others have said, keep a priming arm in it and the spent primer will bounce down and to the side.

I have the aluminum version (Challenger Breach Lock) and it works very well. However, I no longer deprime/decap on the press. The bouncing primer sheds burnt dust all over at the base of the ram and bottom of the press. I found that I was always cleaning and lubricating it. I switched to a Frankford hand deprimer, which contains all the primer dust and now everything on my reloading bench stays much cleaner. I find that I seldom need to clean and lubricate the ram anymore. It stays spotless.

Been using my CC Breech Lock for 5 years now & every time it's the same thing. The first spent primer hits the floor, reminding me to install the primer arm !! You'd think I'd remember by now !!!

I got the press bolted down on my reloading bench today . I can say that it is as slick as ice working the ram , slicker than my Lee turret press . I don’t know if that is because it is well used or what .

I have a Lee Classic Cast, and a Lee Chalenger, both work smooth as silk. I dont deprime on them. I use one of the Lee "C" presses, for a dedicated deprime station. I also use a Lee "C" press as a dedicated priming station, when needed.

I just saw the same guy selling his Lee Challenger press for $35 dollars yesterday . He originally was asking $50 dollars for it . I gave someone else a chance to buy it overnight . I didn’t see it sold this morning so I texted him and bought it this morning . I am probably just going to use it for a dedicated deprimimg station . I’m soon to be a 3 press operation now LOL .

i have this on as well, but i use it with my swaging die only.

but i have shell holders, primer cups, and extra dies, for anytime i'd want to use it for reloading.

I have one (started out with it) It works fine. You need the bushings for it unless you want to screw in every die. I have bushings for all my dies/calibers. You need the primer rm in it to stop primers from flying.
Also keep the little push button clean or it will stick!

I bought 5 sets of dies from him and every die has a bushing on it and lock rings . They are the Lee Deluxe 4 die sets and I got them for $120 dollars .
