Lee Classic loaders- 1st time

The only problem I have had is that the Lee Loader itself doesnt tell you how far to seat the bullet. By comparing to factory loads, and looking at the bullets I bought, I was able to figure out that the vertical scoring on the side of the bullets is the area that you want to use. I am making sure that the scoring is just inside the casing edge, or in other words that the scoring is just barely, but completely, covered by the case. Looks like a factory load now. A set of callipers would be great to check the length, which is listed in the Lee instructions, but a newbie wouldn't know that.

I've been reloading since the '60's/maybe later '50's, and I still get my Lee loader out to reload, brings back pleasant memories.

Actually just the nuts to load up sample reloads at the range, or at home for that matter.

Lee Classic was how I got my start reloading too. I always shot std military calibers and would buy surplus so never needed to reload - but my nephew bought a 300 Win Mag and couldn't afford to feed it. After reloading for him, I branched out with other calibers.

Okay, my next question is, can you use the .357 magnum classic to load 38 specials? I would hate to have to get two different ones if I don't have to. And where can I find a list detailing when different size primer come into play?
