Lee dies and gas checks

I used them for everything from 30 cal to 45-70 without any problems. There is enough resistance going thru the die to seat the gas check.

Well, I had no idea what a gas check was (I don't cast my own), so thanks for the education. Almost as important, when I searched to find out what it was, I came across this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=biGHYHed4hc

It shows the end cap of a lee die holder being used as a "bullet cup" by placing it over the sizing die....really neat idea for those things.

Then when that "end cap" gets full, you simply put the rest of the die box,(the part hiding behind the press), on that end cap. Then you can continue to size boolits, they just fill it up! Very clever of Mr Lee, don't ya say?

This is good to know. I'm planning on an excursion into gas checks during the next casting session later this year. I was going to experiment with the Lee push through sizing dies as well as a conventional lubricator/sizer.

Nice to know there is a good chance the Lee dies should work. I like the way the Lee dies work better than the lubricator/sizer because I'm coating bullets.

The Lee catch cups are great. I've filled them with sized bullets to the point they are almost too heavy to get off the press to empty.:)
