Lee Enfield Scope Mounting???

I have just purchased a Lee Enfield .303 mk4, now I bought it to use it as a deer rifle as well as a plinker. I do not want to replace to rear sight with a mount as I like having backup irons. So is there a mount that attaches to the side of the rifle so as to not have to replace the rear sight with the scope mount?

I've done this on several old beaters and it works very well.

Mount it a little higher up and you can use the battle sight under it.

There are some mounts that sit over the rear sight and allow you to use the iron sights, but tht is not very easy to do. B-Square used to offer one (I think). The other kinds that require you to drill and tap the reciever will destroy any collectors value the rifle might have.

I have never had any problems with this set up, it will put rounds on target better than I can.............

I'd recommend this mount. It worked well on my No.4. Its a solid mount and you dont have to do any drilling.

S & K makes an all steel, rock solid mount. Never had a problem.
